JOHN O'KEEFE

I'm going to talk about the famous neurological John O'Keefe because i think the things he`s done have beesn very important to humanity and because he appeared a nice man.John O'Keefe born in November 18, 1939 (age 77)New York City, is an American-British neuroscientist and a professor at the Sainsbury Wellcome Centre for Neural Circuits and Behaviour and the Research Department of Cell and Developmental Biology at University College London.He is know for his discovery of place cell in the ippocampus and hist discovery that they show a specific kind of temporal coding in the form of theta phase precession.In the 2014 he received he received the Kavli Prize in Neuroscience "for the discovery of specialized brain networks for memory and cognition", together with Brenda Milner and Marcus Raichle. He shared the Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine in 2014 together with May-Britt Moser and EdvardMoser.
